Market Yard Centre
Located in the town centre, these restored 19th-century market buildings are now a focal point in the town's landscape. With a quirky café and sometimes an impromptu music session, there is always something happening. Don't miss the Thursday morning Farmers Market, which draws an impressive array of organic farmers, bakers and food producers. If you’re a lover of fresh foods there’s so much choice with organic vegetable stalls set up and if fish is your thing, then the fishmonger is for you with all of their catch having come straight from the coast that very morning.
With its covered outdoor space, a walk around the market seeing all the fresh produce and crafts that are on display can really send a boost of energy through you. Open every Thursday from 10am to 2pm, all that the market has on show offers a canvas of colours, smells and tastes that allow you to get lost while the time passes as you wander through the stands.

The Shed Distillery
Located a short drive away in the town of Drumshanbo, the Shed Distillery is a wonder to see. From the views on arrival to the drink after the distillery tour, it is an immersive experience into the creation of the very famous Gunpowder Gin and their other spirits.
Located right on site is the Jackalope Café where there is a light lunch menu and an array of pastries and desserts to satisfy any sweet tooth. The day as a whole is relaxing and a fun,, interesting activity to take part in. What better way to pass the time then sipping delicious cocktails in their bar!

Acres Lake Boardwalk
While in Drumshanbo, you can also enjoy a leisurely stroll on Acres Lake Boardwalk, Ireland’s first ever floating boardwalk. The 600m boardwalk provides picturesque views of the Acres Lake and is also the start of a 6.5km Linear walking and cycling trail along the Shannon Blueway. The spectacular scenery at Acres Lake makes it a perfect spot for a picnic or even to just to sit for a while and take in the peace and tranquillity.
Local wildlife is plentiful with many swan nests within view of the Boardwalk - the perfect setting to enjoy each other’s company with no distractions but nature!
Moon River Cruise
Located right on our doorstep here in Carrick-on-Shannon, Moon River offers a way to enjoy the the river and surrounding area from a different perspective!
On board you will learn about the flora and fauna of riverbanks and the heritage of the land. You’ll be treated so music and songs and light-hearted local stories. The scenery offered is breath taking and at any time during the day wildlife is never too far from the river bank.
