Keith Barry - The Asylum coming to The Landmark

BEWARE: This show is not for the faint hearted or for the easily offended!*

Following on from his sold out January national tour Keith Barry is back with his brand new and most outrageous show to date- The Asylum! 

Keith is bringing ‘The Asylum’ and his dazzling blend of magic, illusions and hypnosis to The Landmark on Sunday April 11th.
But be warned ‘The Asylum’ is unsuitable for young kids as there is adult themed material and some language in the show. The show which involves lots of audience participation has seen almost 80 people take part in any one show with a record of 67 people on the stage with Keith all at the one time!

Aside from this Nation wide tour Keith is busy every Friday night asking contestants if they want to ‘Deal or No Deal’ on the hugely successful TV3 show. He was the recipient of the Merlin Award (an Oscar in the world of Magic) for ‘Mentalist of the Year 2009’ and his own TV shows can now be seen in 82 countries Worldwide including MTV and CBS in the USA, ITV in the UK and RTE in Ireland.

The Landmark Takes Major Accolade at Wedding Awards

The Landmark’s Patricia Corrigan wins WEDDING COORDINATOR OF THE YEAR 2009!

The competition for the WeddingsOnLine Wedding Awards 2009 was keen with wedding venues and wedding specialist companies alike vying for this much coveted award. Nominations were made, a shortlist drawn up and it came down to just 6 individuals from throughout the country – the elite of the industry.

On Monday evening 15th Feb, the industry gathered. We all sat in hopeful expectation as the winners were announced category by category. Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long before the room erupted and Patricia Corrigan took to the stage to accept her award, presented by Jackie Lavin. The goodwill and appreciation of Patricia’s hard work and dedication was palpable with industry peers taking to their feet with applause that engulfed the ballroom. It was a proud moment for the rest of The Landmark Team present – a bit of a tear jerker I have to admit.

WeddingsOnLine is Ireland’s leading on-line wedding forum. They are celebrating 10 years in business this year and in acknowledgement of this launched the nationwide hunt for Ireland’s leading Wedding Suppliers.

The process was a long and arduous one, with an independent research company brought on board to execute the voting and judging process. All on-line members (WOLLIES as they are affectionately known) were invited to nominate their favourite supplier for the various different categories. The best part of this Awards Programme is that all nominations came from Brides and Grooms – those who know best. All Wollies made their nominations and as requested, stated why they recommended the business or individual. All of these nominations where then collated and a Shortlist was drawn up for each category.

The Shortlists were issued over Christmas and we were ecstatic to learn that The Landmark Hotel was Shortlisted for Wedding Venue of the Year and Patricia Corrigan was Shortlisted for Wedding Coordinator of the Year.

We’ve had a very busy year and have been lucky to celebrate a host of wonderful wedding days with a lot of very special and loved up couples. We work hard to ensure that each couple loves every minute of the planning process and of course the big day itself. The whole team at The Landmark works to a ‘can do’ ethos, we love what we do and we love the fact that our couples love it too! From us all here at The Landmark we would like to thank you all for the time you took to nominate the Landmark and Patricia. We are very encouraged by your support and will continue to up our game, ensuring that all future couples enjoy the same Landmark Wedding Experience.

Landmark Date Confirmed with Brendan Grace!

Ireland’s favourite Funny Man is coming back to The Landmark Hotel!

 
Brendan Grace is bringing his show to The Landmark Hotel on Thursday March 4th.

Grace and his much loved characters have been entertaining audiences for many a year now and he is well established as Ireland’s favourite Funny Man.
With nearly 40 years in the business to his credit, he has developed a following that crosses generations and ensures capacity audiences no matter where he ventures.
It was the same story when he visited the Landmark last year,- a sell out concert and a brilliant night’s entertainment for all those lucky enough to get a ticket.

 
Grace will be joined on the night by the King of the Hucklebuck himself - Brendan Bowyer, for what promises to be a great night of entertainment.

Mike Denver Concert Re-Scheduled for Thursday 11th February

We are delighted to confirm that the Mike Denver concert has been re-scheduled for Thursday 11th Feb.

The previously advertised Jan 8th concert with Mike Denver and special guest - Brendan Bowyer was regrettably postponed due to unsafe weather conditions. The concert has been rescheduled for Thursday 11th Feb and the promoters have assured us that all tickets sold for the Jan 8th concert will be honoured.

There are still tickets available for this concert and are on sale at Reception in The Landmark Hotel or by calling 071 96 22 222. Tickets are also on sale at Mulveys, Main Street, Carrick on Shannon.

The Promoters have asked The Landmark Hotel to express their apologies for any inconvenience caused by the re-scheduling and look forward to greeting you all safely in February.

Landmark Hotel Shortlisted for Wedding Venue of the Year 2009 Award

What a start to the New Year – Carrick-on-Shannon’s Landmark Hotel has been shortlisted for 2 prestigious Wedding Awards!

Ireland’s most visited On-line Wedding Forum - WeddingsOnLine.ie has released the shortlists for their annual wedding awards and The Landmark Hotel has been shortlisted for 2 awards - ‘Wedding Venue of the Year – Hotel Category’ and ‘Wedding Coordinator of the Year’.

Weddings On Line is Ireland’s most active Wedding Forum with Brides and Grooms from all over the country seeking advice, giving advice and recommendations, letting off some pre-wedding nervous steam and generally enjoying the excitement of the planning process. The members of the forum, known as ‘WOLLIES’, were invited to nominate service suppliers within the Wedding Industry. Business as Usual at the Landmark Despite the Floods

Like many parts of the south and west of the country, Carrick-on-Shannon has also been affected by recent rainfall and flood waters. Traffic diversions have been put in place however the town is still accessible. Management of The Landmark Hotel is very happy to confirm that the Landmark is dry and open for business as usual. And most importantly we are looking forward to welcoming our Bride and Grooms over the weekend and their family and friends.

Our car parking facilities are currently restricted due to flood water. Alternative parking has been arranged for all guests attending the Dolan & Reynolds wedding on Friday 27th and the Maguire&Kerr wedding on Saturday 28th. A coach service will be provided by The Landmark for guests of both weddings. The coach will depart Pairc Seán McDiarmada, located on the N4 on the Dublin side of Carrick-on-Shannon.

Brendan Bowyer,  came to prominence in 1959 as the lead singer of the famous Royal Showband.  With international hits to his credit and a legendry status at home and in Las Vegas (where ELVIS came to see him perform!!), Brendan Bowyer is truly a legend of Irish Showband Music.

On Saturday 14th March BOARDWALK LIVE welcomed TENDERHOOX, A 4 piece rock group who’s origins lie in the Northeast of Ireland. They have been playing to packed venues throughout the country with their eclectic repertoire of rock, hip hop, indie and west coast g funk.

Boardwalk Live Presents Silverman

SILVERMAN - Played LIVE @ THE BOARDWALK CAFÉ ON SAT 30TH MAY

...Forget Superman, Spiderman and Batman – SILVERMAN are a four piece rock band from the northwest (with a mixture of Leitrim & Roscommon lads it made for great fun with the weekend that was in it!!). They had the crowd moving & singing along to some of the best rock music on the market. With a set list including songs from Kings of Leon, The Killers, Razorlight, MGMT, Muse, Snow Patrol along with some classic rock and funky tunes, it was Party Time with SILVERMAN!!
The guys -  Andy on vocals and Guitar, Donal on Lead Guitar, Keith on Bass and Dave on Drums were on form and a brilliant night was had by all. The Boardwalk Live look forward to welcoming the lads back!!!
