Slapped her in the face once

Tommy Tiernan’s World’s Tour comes to The Landmark Hotel

imageShakespeare once wrote “The world is a stage and all its men and women are merely players”, well in May 2010 the mighty counties of Sligo, Leitim & Roscommon will be the stage for the peerless Tommy Tiernan as the multi award winning comic embarks on his ‘World Tour Of Sligo, Leitrim & Roscommon 2010’.
Fearless, inspiring and armed with a breath of comic abilities rivaled by no one in stand-up today, Tommy is able to expertly write and perform jokes born from every corner of the mind, politics, sex, family relationships, international observations, religion and drugs, it’s all there.
Having recently broken the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous solo show by a comedian (36 hours 15 mines) and sell out World Tours of every other county he’s hit on his current World Tours jaunt around the country (including Galway, Limerick, Cork, Mayo, Donegal, Tipperary and many more), Tiernan is currently in irresistible form.

This seven date tour is a perfect and timely robust antidote to the depressive, recessionary mood that prevails right now.
Tickets €28, are now on sale at The Landmark and http://www.ticketmaster.ie

Great Deal:    B&B, 4 Course Dinner and Ticket for Tommy Tiernan @ €110pps Click here for Reservations

Bright Light Fundraiser May 7th 2010

imageA really great couple booked their Wedding with The Landmark Hotel last year…… Elaine McGlynn & Darren Rogan. Like all couples they were so excited about booking their wedding and all the fun that goes along with it. They were looking forward to their big day, but sadly it was not meant to be. Elaine was diagnosed with Leukaemia and in November of last year Elaine passed away in the arms of her fiance, Darren. They never did get the chance to marry. Elaine was only 29 and would have been 30 on the 10th of May this year. To mark the occasion and celebrate Elaine’s life, her family are organizing a huge party in Cartown with all proceeds going to her much loved charity, The LARCC Cancer Centre.

The Landmark together with Cartown Niteclub are working with Darren and Elaine’s family to organise this fundraising event. We have received amazing support and local bands Silverman & Sustained along with 4 iRadio DJs have offered to entertain us all on the night and all ticket sales & proceeds from the door on the night are going to the charity. Cartown is going to be rockin’ on the night with i102-104 DJs; Dave O’Connor, Lisa Brady, Michael Doherty & Evan Hunt also the brilliant sounds of Sustained & Silverman.

So come on out and join us as we celebrate the life of Elaine McGlynn Rogan - A Truely Bright Light.
Details: Friday 7th May, Cartown Niteclub, Doors at €10:30pm, All proceeds to LARCC Cancer Centre

Catch the courtesy (FREE OF CHARGE!!!) bus to Cartown every Friday & Saturday night at Boardwalk Bar, The Landmark Hotel.

BEWARE: This show is not for the faint hearted or for the easily offended!*

Following on from his sold out January national tour Keith Barry is back with his brand new and most outrageous show to date- The Asylum!

Keith is bringing ‘The Asylum’ and his dazzling blend of magic, illusions and hypnosis to The Landmark on Sunday April 11th.
But be warned ‘The Asylum’ is unsuitable for young kids as there is adult themed material and some language in the show. The show which involves lots of audience participation has seen almost 80 people take part in any one show with a record of 67 people on the stage with Keith all at the one time!

Aside from this Nation wide tour Keith is busy every Friday night asking contestants if they want to ‘Deal or No Deal’ on the hugely successful TV3 show. He was the recipient of the Merlin Award (an Oscar in the world of Magic) for ‘Mentalist of the Year 2009’ and his own TV shows can now be seen in 82 countries Worldwide including MTV and CBS in the USA, ITV in the UK and RTE in Ireland.

See what the fuss is all about and come along to ‘The Asylum’ - Tickets at €30 are on sale at Reception in The Landmark Hotel or by calling: 071 96 22 222.

The Landmark Takes Major Accolade at Wedding Awards

The Landmark’s Patricia Corrigan wins WEDDING COORDINATOR OF THE YEAR 2009!

The competition for the WeddingsOnLine Wedding Awards 2009 was keen with wedding venues and wedding specialist companies alike vying for this much coveted award. Nominations were made, a shortlist drawn up and it came down to just 6 individuals from throughout the country – the elite of the industry.

On Monday evening 15th Feb, the industry gathered. We all sat in hopeful expectation as the winners were announced category by category. Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long before the room erupted and Patricia Corrigan took to the stage to accept her award, presented by Jackie Lavin. The goodwill and appreciation of Patricia’s hard work and dedication was palpable with industry peers taking to their feet with applause that engulfed the ballroom. It was a proud moment for the rest of The Landmark Team present – a bit of a tear jerker I have to admit.

WeddingsOnLine is Ireland’s leading on-line wedding forum. They are celebrating 10 years in business this year and in acknowledgement of this launched the nationwide hunt for Ireland’s leading Wedding Suppliers.

The process was a long and arduous one, with an independent research company brought on board to execute the voting and judging process. All on-line members (WOLLIES as they are affectionately known) were invited to nominate their favourite supplier for the various different categories. The best part of this Awards Programme is that all nominations came from Brides and Grooms – those who know best. All Wollies made their nominations and as requested, stated why they recommended the business or individual. All of these nominations where then collated and a Shortlist was drawn up for each category.

The Shortlists were issued over Christmas and we were ecstatic to learn that The Landmark Hotel was Shortlisted for Wedding Venue of the Year and Patricia Corrigan was Shortlisted for Wedding Coordinator of the Year.

We’ve had a very busy year and have been lucky to celebrate a host of wonderful wedding days with a lot of very special and loved up couples. We work hard to ensure that each couple loves every minute of the planning process and of course the big day itself. The whole team at The Landmark works to a ‘can do’ ethos, we love what we do and we love the fact that our couples love it too! From us all here at The Landmark we would like to thank you all for the time you took to nominate the Landmark and Patricia. We are very encouraged by your support and will continue to up our game, ensuring that all future couples enjoy the same Landmark Wedding Experience.
